This page explains what happens to the details you give us on this site. In short: we collect your email and, if you give it, your lesson, only to invite you to the early test.

What we collect

• Your email address and, if you fill it in, the lesson you are on, when you send the early test form.
• A scrambled form of the internet address your form request came from, to stop the form being misused. We keep it for one day and cannot turn it back into the address.
• Our host keeps short-lived technical logs of visits, including internet addresses, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

We set no cookies and use no tracking or analytics. The fonts are served from this site, so your visit is not shared with a font service.

Why

We use your email only to invite you to the early test, and your lesson to choose who to invite first. We do not send newsletters and do not share or sell your details. The legal basis is your consent when you send the form (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Protecting the form from misuse is in our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Where it is stored

Sign-ups are stored with Supabase, on servers in Tokyo, Japan. The European Union recognises Japan as protecting personal data adequately. The site is hosted by Vercel. Both act on our behalf under their data processing terms.

How long we keep it

We delete your email and lesson when the early test is over, and at the latest six months after you sign up.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, at any time: write to hello@sawu.me from the address you signed up with. Withdrawing your consent does not affect what we did before. You can also restrict or object to processing, ask for your data in a portable form, and complain to a data protection authority.
